Tsunami Relief Print E-mail

Following urgent requests, IFL Australia, IFL Germany and IFL UK have successfully sent insulin, test strips and other diabetes supplies to established and trusted networks at the Diabetes Association of Sri Lanka and distribution immediately to 2 General Hospitals in Galle and Matara in the south and others in the east - some of the worst areas affected by the Tsunami.

Supplies are being sent on an ongoing basis to the Diabetes Association of the Maldives. We are committed to sending supplies regularly for up to 2 years and then we will review the needs.

Photos (below) received from Dr. Mahan Wijesuriya, President, Diabetes Association of Sri Lanka and from the Diabetes Society of the Maldives show the insulin and supplies being received and distributed.

Thanks to our marvellous supporters for making this possible through the donation of supplies, most of which would have otherwise been wasted, and support for the cost of transport and handling.
